Romantic Waterfront Wedding in Baltimore, Maryland

THE PROPOSAL

Shayna and Tyler met when they both attended the University of Maryland and quickly became friends while paired up for Greek Life activities. Their friendship blossomed into romance, and a few years later, Tyler was getting ready to propose when they bought their first house together. Shayna is a cheerleader for the Baltimore Ravens, and during that time she was having to travel with the team a lot, so she didn’t even notice that Tyler was planning his proposal right under her nose! He decorated their new roof deck in tons of rose petals and asked her to marry him, and she said yes immediately! After she accepted, she came downstairs to find a surprise engagement party with all of their friends and family in their new home! Then they got to work planning their dream wedding!

The couple held their wedding on a gorgeous summer day in August. The weather was beautiful, and they were able to have their ceremony on the dock by the water, underneath a floral adorned chupah for their Jewish ceremony. Homestead Weddings and Events decorated the ceremony site in a romantic palette of pink and white with greenery, and these florals were breathtaking!

As for her wedding dress, Shayna says “I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for in stores. I keep liking one aspect but not another; I would like the top, but not the skirt, or it would have enough beading, but not a low back like I wanted. So I found a company called Anomalie that takes all of your ideas and pictures and creates your custom-made wedding dress. I picked the fabric, the lace, the beading, everything from top to bottom. Stressful, but worth it!”

After getting ready, the bride exchanged a sweet first look with her father, and then the couple had an emotional first look together before their ceremony. There wasn’t a dry eye in the whole place! This fun-loving couple even had a special choreographed first dance which got all their guests up on their feet! I had such an amazing time getting to know these two lovebirds, and I’m so thankful I was a part of their wedding day!
