Marcus and Marissa have the kind of love that you don’t find everyday… it’s real, it’s selfless, it’s full of hope. During the Charlottesville riots, Marissa and Marcus were with a group of counter protesters and were in the crowd that a car was driven into. Marcus pushed Marissa out of the way and wound up with a broken leg but Marissa walked away with mere bruises. Not surprisingly, their wedding plans got put on hold so they could recover and find a new normal. After seeing what had happened, my friend, Christina from Bella Giornata Events, contacted them and offered her planning services for free so that they could have the wedding of their dreams after all of the loss they’d suffered. Christina came to me, along with many other dream vendors, asking if we would be willing to donate our services for this incredible wedding day… and how can you say no to that? After I met Marcus and Marissa at their engagement session, I knew I’d made the right decision. They’re so down-to-earth and truly in love. It was easy to do my job!!
Their summer wedding took place at Walden Hall, a gorgeous bed and breakfast in Reva, VA. Their outdoor ceremony featured a stunning pink and purple floral arch by Holly Chapple and it was the perfect place for their heartfelt vows! The entire day was emotional for everyone – not just the bride and groom – as these two finally got to tie the knot. After their gorgeous ceremony, we all headed into the reception (after some fun bridal portraits of course!), where MAJOR performed a song for the now married Marcus and Marrisa’s first dance. Guests were able to munch on delicious food by Taste of Elegance and Marissa and Marcus cut a stunning (and delicious!) cake by Bijou Sweet Treats! The amount of love that each vendor put into their contribution for this wedding day is still overwhelming to me. Each of these vendors wanted to love on Marissa and Marcus because of how they love each other. This day was seriously something special to be a part of!!!
