Congratulations to Alina and Loren! Their Carnegie Institution for Science wedding day was stunning!
Alina and Loren met while they were at Allegheny College, a few weeks before graduation. Loren claims the two took a class together freshman year, but Alina doesn’t! Either way, the two finally went on a date a few months after meeting and they couldn’t help but fall for each other. Loren planned a proposal for Alina that never came true (because of misreading the shipping date on the ring!) but their engagement turned out to be perfect anyway. The two were home on a lazy afternoon talking about their week ahead. Loren casually asked Alina if she would say if he proposed at the Red Sox-Orioles game they’d be going to and she replied she’d hate that proposal, ha! He then asked what she would say if he proposed in the kitchen then. She thought he was joking and she tossed more bread into the toaster. Loren reached up above her and grabbed the ring, asking her to marry him. She of course said YES!! They were lost in happiness… until they smelled smoke! So sweet!
With the help of the fantastic Christina Moore of Bella Giornata Events, the two began planning their classic and romantic Carnegie Institution for Science wedding day in Washington DC. They wanted their day to be classic and elegant, yet still comfortable. Alina and Loren stuck with a gorgeous color scheme of blue, marble, and silver which complimented the Carnegie Institution of Science’s building perfectly! Their day was the perfect DC wedding!!
Alina and Loren got ready at the Willard Hotel in Washington DC before Alina had a first look with her dad. It was so sweet to see her with him! After their first look, Alina headed downstairs to see Loren for the first time. He looked so handsome waiting for her – and they were so happy when they saw each other! Of course, we took them around DC to some of our favorite monuments for their wedding day portraits. It’s always fun to see how the tourists visiting react when they see a bride and groom in Washington DC around the monuments! The newlyweds tied the knot in a ceremony right in the lobby of the building before heading into their reception to celebrate all night long! And… they had a grilled cheese bar at the reception. I mean, could this day get anymore perfect?!
Alina and Loren, we wish you nothing but happiness in your new married life!!
