Sean and Colleen first met five years ago in a bar through their mutual good friends, Chrissy and Stephen, and as Colleen says, the rest is history. When Sean proposed to Colleen, he tricked her into thinking they were picking up Stephen from Adler Planetarium. Colleen went inside to look for Stephen and when she came outside to say she couldn’t find him, Sean was standing in front of the lake with the skyline in the background and proposed. Stephen was hiding to take pictures. She said yes immediately without any hesitation!
After getting engaged, Sean and Colleen began their planning their dream wedding at Halim Time and Glass Museum. The couple says that their favorite part of planning their wedding day was “walking into the venue and knowing right away this was the spot we needed to get married in.” They knew instantly that the gorgeous museum was the perfect spot for them! Skylines are definitely important to these two, since Sean proposed to Colleen with the skyline in the background, and they chose a ceremony location where the skyline was prominent. They used an image of a skyline as their guestbook for guests to sign, and a photo of their skyline proposal was placed inside their sand ceremony box.
The color palette was a classic, elegant combination of gold, white, and black. They used lots of special touches and personal details to make the wedding day feel truly special to them. These two Pittsburgh Steeler fans had their team’s towels everywhere throughout their reception. They also shared a “first touch” rather than a first look before their ceremony and exchanged sentimental gifts and notes with each other. Their wedding day was truly special and beautiful, and I am so honored I got to be a part of it!
