Claire + Austin’s Modern Navy Inspired Wedding Day

Claire and Austin are seriously one of the most wonderful couples I’ve ever had the chance to work with. These two have been together over three years (most have been long-distance since Austin serves our country with the U.S. Marines) and finally tied the knot this fall in a beautiful Inn at the Old Silk Mill wedding here in Fredericksburg. After meeting online thanks to Claire’s mom, Austin proposed to Claire at the Grand Canyon earlier in the year. They were visiting for Austin’s dad’s birthday and he planned a day trip so he could have Claire alone to propose! This spring, we celebrated their engagement with a beautiful portrait session at Chatham Manor and I knew after our time together then that their wedding day would be incredibly special. And I was right! These two are very much in love and it shows in every portrait I take of them!

Their Inn at the Old Silk Mill wedding day was absolutely stunning. Claire and Austin chose a beautiful and natural color palette full of navy, oyster ivory, gray and gold (all of which went perfectly with Austin’s uniform!). Everything came together nicely in the modern space of the Inn at the Old Silk Mill and complimented the incredible work of Tart Event Co. and Jane Guerin! Their wedding day started with the girls getting ready together (can we talk about how cute their little pajamas were?!) and then before we knew it, my team was with Claire and Austin for their first look! Austin was speechless when he saw Claire and we don’t blame him – her dress was stunning! After a few portraits, we got ready for their emotional ceremony and then it was party time! Claire changed into her second dress and we were off! It was amazing how much fun everyone had and the love in the air for the newlyweds was palpable. The best part of the night was definitely Claire and Austin’s sparkler send off – it was the perfect way to end the night!

Claire and Austin, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day! We had a blast and are so happy that you two are married! Congratulations and we can’t wait to see where the future takes you!
