Shockoe Bottom Engagement Session in Richmond, VA

Carolyn and Matt are just the sweetest people ever! I don’t know how we manage to do it but Nate and I get to work with some really amazing couples. And these two were no different! We had their fun Shockoe Bottom engagement session this spring and it was absolutely perfect. Couples like Matt and Caroyln make our jobs so easy because they’re clearly so in love!

At Shockoe Bottom, we had a great view of the city and were able to be a part of this cute downtown area of Richmond. If you haven’t been out to this part of the city, definitely check it out! It’s so cute!! Carolyn and Matt looked like total naturals in front of the camera during our session – and I just love the dress Carolyn picked out to wear. It was perfect for our spring session!

When we were planning their engagement portraits, Carolyn and Matt asked about bringing their adorable pup to join them. Of course I was all about it! I love when my clients bring their fur babies to their sessions with them. We had a great time walking around this part of Richmond and their little pup was so well behaved and knew just how to pose for us!

It’s always so fun when we get to find ways to be creative during the session so we can include these furry friends. I always encourage my clients who want to bring animals to their session to make sure they have someone who can help hold their dog while we do other portraits – and I want them to remember that animals can be a bit harder to pose than humans! But it’s always a blast, so don’t shy away from bringing your furry love to our session!  I am all about including your dog in your portraits – after all, they’re our babies too!
